Exciting News!

February 18, 2013

Malory and I are oh so excited to announce the addition of three lovely doulas to Doulas Etc.! These are women that we have already worked with as colleagues. On second thought, perhaps “comrades” is a more accurate word. These are not just women that share a common profession as us- these are women that we have also had the pleasure of counting among our friends, our allies, and our companions on this crazy doula journey. These three women share our vision and passion for what we’ve hoped to achieve with Doulas Etc.. From the very beginning our mission has been to, “provide an ongoing discussion on issues relating to pregnancy, birth and family life; offer information on local resources; and maintain a presence in our community in order to promote the well-being of moms, babies, and families.”

{You know- that thing that is in the little brown box up on the top of the page 😉 }

So, who are these women? Well, we will be rolling out more formal introductions here on the blog over the next week but I won’t make you wait that long to meet them. Hannah Landis is a DONA certified doula who has been serving the women in the Champaign/Urbana area for the past two years. Krystal Uppole is a DONA trained birth doula as well a licensed message therapist. She is co-owner of Three Paths Massage Therapy in Peoria specializing in prenatal, infant, and hot stone massage. Last, but certainly not least, Jessica Worland is a DONA trained birth doula who recently moved to Bloomington/Normal. She has her Master’s Degree in Public health, is a birth photographer, and also teaches childbirth classes.

I really can not tell you how excited we are for these three amazing women to join us. With their help, Doulas Etc. will be able to more fully realize our original vision- and be updated more than every 6 months 😉 You can also find Doulas Etc. now on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/DoulasEtc and on Twitter ( @DoulasEtc ). Please check back in with us later this week as we do some proper introductions as well as a couple other announcements!
