Why the “etc.”?

We are so excited about the birth of our new blog (pun completely intended)!  Since Malory and I are both professional birth doulas and this blog will speak a lot on pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum topics, the “Doulas” of “Doulas, etc.” is pretty self-explanatory.  But why the “etc.” ?

Well, we like to talk a lot and don’t want to limit ourselves.  As doulas we are immersed in the world of women, babies, and families.  So much so that we actually are women with babies and families.  Just like you, we depend on the community and support around us.  While we will be talking about issues directly related to our work as doulas, we will also talk about many other topics (that would be the “etc.”) that interest families- well, ours anyways.  Our hope is that this blog can be one more addition to you and your family’s community of support.
